BOTOX® Cosmetic
No matter how well skin is preserved and cared for, everyone eventually develops facial lines and wrinkles. Fortunately, there are a number of options available to remove many of the lines that come with aging. BOTOX® Cosmetic is an extremely quick approach to softening or removing the natural lines and wrinkles between the eyes, on the sides of the eyes (crow’s feet), and on the forehead. BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA-approved to temporarily smooth or remove these lines in patients ages 18 to 65. During this treatment, Dr. Barroner will personally administer a few small injections directly into the muscles that cause these facial lines. The procedure requires no recovery time and causes little discomfort.  Your entire treatment takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
After receiving BOTOX® treatment, patients can return to work the same day. A patient’s facial muscles will relax within two to ten days after treatment, causing wrinkles to either lessen or disappear completely. The muscles will continue to remain in a relaxed state for three to four months after treatment. If you discontinue treatments, the facial wrinkles will gradually re-appear. Patients who receive treatments on a regular schedule will likely find that BOTOX® treatments are effective for longer periods of time. Our staff will help you keep track of your treatment schedule.

Yes, your facial expressions will continue to look natural. Although the results of BOTOX® Cosmetic are visible, it will not make you look as if you “had work done”. The muscle activity that cause facial lines between the brow is simply reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised.

BOTOX® Cosmetic dosing units are not the same as, or comparable to, any other botulinum toxin product. There has not been a confirmed serious case of spread of toxin effect when BOTOX® Cosmetic has been used at the recommended dose to treat frown lines, crow’s feet lines, and/or forehead lines.
